Bomen - onze buren, book 2025
The book Bomen - onze buren, focuses mainly on trees living in Leiden, The Netherlands, where Lisanne also lives. The contents consist of three parts: images of Lisanne's tree etchings from the past five years, texts by 24 authors about these trees and their everyday experience with them, and photographs.
The texts offer 24 individual insights into the human-tree experience in the city and inspiration, how to take good care of our green quiet neighbours.

Bomen - onze buren; graphic series in an artist’s box 2025
The graphic series offers an insight into different intaglio techniques and their possible combinations, the use of which the artist let depend on the tree in question. Lisanne works with a prepared plate for each individual tree. In the case of a birch tree, for example, she uses the sugar technique to create the image with an inky line and pure line etching in the case of fine branches. Or a crusty bark is sketchily realised with vernis-mou. Aquatint - with or without crayon – shows also up, or just quick sketches with drypoint.
The box, crafted by Joost Bos (Bosboeken Utrecht), is covered in petrol-coloured linen and contains an edition of 26 etchings: 10 prints of 30 x 50 cm and 16 of 20 x 30 cm, both on 300g Magnani paper. Lisanne printed the editions in her studio in Leiden.
Besides the original prints, the book Bomen – onze buren is part of the box. It consists of three parts: photos of prints of trees, short texts by 24 authors writing about their trees and situational photos of these neighbouring trees. The design of the book was made by Roelant Meijer (tegenwind Utrecht), and the photos of the etchings are by Henni van Beek. It was published in May 2025 by Ginkgo uitgeverij Leiden.

Renées Goats, 2022/2023
The famous Amsterdam animal sculptess Renée Marcus Janssen created various portraits of goats and sheep under the motto of the scapegoat.

Twee verhalen, 2022/2023
In this special edition made by Elbert Ploos van Amstel two humorous picture stories intended for adults are bound together in a booklet. A drawing from each story has been turned into an etching.
Love your own pot
In the little story, Orkakel is the main character. She lives in a pot decorated with mysterious signs. She has special gifts, including being able to make predictions in oracular language and warp matter.
Comingman's new glasses
Comingman is the main character in the other story: he is the man who thinks he is going to make it in the world; a 'fancy look' is part of it.
The edition contains two etchings, printed by Marjolijn Groustra and Burkhardt Söll on Magnani 300gr paper and a self printed book (digital print).

The Sawah-animal, 2022/2023
Inspired by Indonesia, the artist Marjolijn Groustra excogitated a story around an unusual sawah animal that lives in the sawahs (the rice fields of Indonesia). They are remarkably tied-up palm leaves that serve as a kind of scarecrows.

Outlines, 2023
Also in collaboration with drukdrukpaint was the series Outlines with mezzotint prints by the Amsterdam artist Jeroen Bisscheroux. His subject was the depiction of areas in Japan devastated by the tsunami in 2011.

Die Vertreibung der triumphierenden Bestie, 2021/2023
The Expulsion of the Triumphant Beast (translated in English and German, original text by Giordano Bruno, Spaccio de la bestia trionfante, 1584) is the name of a new edition of 27 etchings.
Burkhardt Söll, Paul and Manni du Bois-Reymond spent many hours 'en plein air' creating their meticulously detailed etchings. In the Gauer Valley, Montafon, these plates were made in direct confrontation with the vegetation. The representations are interwoven with nightmarish impressions of a 16th-century literary work by Giordano Bruno: Spaccio della bestia trionfante. Manuela du Bois-Reymond wrote texts for the series of 27 etchings and Anthonie Meijers produced the elegant wooden box.

Im Garten (In the garden), 2022
The publication shows Gouaches from Burkhardt´s production, which he originated in his garden in the 1980s.
The digitized polaroids (by Florian Söll) are accompanied by Manuela's poems and an introductory contemplative text by Rahel Ziethen.

Im Wald (in the woods), 2020/2021
Burkhardt printed this edition of 14 differents plates in our atelier in Leiden on 230 gr Hahnemühle Bütten with only one color: soft black by Charbonnel.
The Berlin artist Günther Wagner, friend of Burkhardt, produced the etchings in a daja in Brandenburg. As a recurring motif, his atmospheric etchings evoke the impression of diverse weather and mood situations on a forest edge. He achieves the deep black of the prints by etching the zinc plate for hours in mild nitric acid.
We presented this edition together with etchings by Marten Hazelaar in June 2022 (expo#1).

Pica Pica (lat. magpie), 2021/2022
10 etchings and a homage to the magpie make up this series; the first that Lisanne planned and printed by herself. The charming beauty of a magpie skull, which was found and prepared by Gregor 50 years ago and has accompanied him ever since, is central.
Executed in different techniques (vernis mou, drypoint, line etching, aquatint), printed on two differently colored laid paper (5 x off-white 230 gr, 5 x white 300 gr, both Hahnemühle).

Tannen im Sanüel - Firs in the Sanüel 2021/2022
This box of etchings and original photographs had been inspired by holidays in the mountains of the Montafon (Austria). Burkhardt has artistically dealt with this landscape, flora and fauna there for over 20 years.
He created 23 etchings with a sheet size of 30 x 21 cm. With five autographed photographs by Anthonie Meijers and Volker Blumenthaler and texts by Manuela, Gregor and Lisanne, the graphics form a Gesamtkunstwerk. All the trees shown were given names by the artist.
To name living beings when you draw them is indispensable to recognize and capture a piece of their souls - according to Burkhardt.

Le Jardin garde le sourire - The garden is still smiling, 2018/2019
With this exhibition our cooperation and friendship began: In autumn 2018, Burkhardt asked thirteen of his friends to make etchings on the subject of "gardens". This is how Gregor and Lisanne were introduced to the secrets of the art of etching. The result of this project is a box full of 26 etchings and 10 art photos, and the prints that had been made in Burkhardt´s studio in the Kaasmarktschool.

The box with the etchings was also a political act, in the sense that it points out the beauty and importance of gardens in cities in general.

La Maison enchantée - Oder: Wer rettet Tier und Mensch / who saves animals and humans, 2010
The animal book shows how disturbed - and even better - destroyed the relationship between animals and humans is. The slaughterhouses indicate the loud or barely audible end of this world. God has turned away; all that remains is a strange silence.

A&O - A new analysis of Beauty, 2008
The title refers to as well as the ancient religious and all-encompassing philosophy contained in A & O/ Alpha and Omega as also to the formula A=O. O stands for the Ox. The first letter in the Hebrew alphabet is the letter Aleph, that means literally Ox. Also the Ox has been the heraldic animal of the painter´s guild - St. Luke. And so much more...
